Round 5 of the Hyper Racer 2008 Australian 'Manufacturers' Championship
was run in conjunction with Round 3 of the NSW Club Series.

Although the Hyper drivers were racing for points in their respective divisions, the light division Hyper drivers all weighed up to heavy division weight, in the interests of having a competitive days racing.

Dean Crooke won the day in the Lights Division ahead of Mark Wicks and Shaun Trounson.
In the Heavy Division, Chris Jewell finished ahead of Wayne Horswell and Patrick Atherton.

The Club round was won by Dean Crooke, with Mark Wicks second and David Brand third.
Wicks and Crooke fought it out for fastest lap with Wicks taking it by 2/100ths at 1:07.3060

Patrick Atherton had his best day yet, despite a DNF in race 2.
He qualified third, only 6/10 off Crooke's pole time and in Race One he ran nose to tail with Wicks and Crooke finishing 5/10ths behind Wicks and Crooke and setting the fastest Max time of the race at 1:08.0330.

Alan Dodge spins in turn 1. Wicks is through. David Brand takes avoiding action as Crooke, Taplin and Atherton squeak through on the outside.

Mathew Blair had his second run in his MAX.

GEARBOX CLASS

250 winner Rami Viitanen.

John Pellicano beat the 250's to pole in his 125 gearbox kart.

Luke Brown had a good day to finish second in the 250's

George Koutros in his immaculate 250.

Jeremy Shelton won the 125 gearbox class.
