Mark Wicks to drive HyperRacer in 2007
January 19th 2007
Mark Wicks will drive for HyperRacer in 2007.
Mark tested a HyperMAXracer for Motorsport News at Winton recently, and was immediately on the pace. I guess that's why he's a World Karting Champion. He was so impressed with the HyperMAXracer that, at the end of the day's driving he said, "When do I start."
Mark Mark will be driving in the 180 kilo division.
Mark replaces the previously announced driver, Matt Hayes, who has had to withdraw because he (despite a bulking-up diet over the last 3 months) could not make the minimum weight.

* Moving from 12th to 3rd on a wet track in my first National series Formula Ford race (only 2nd ever FF race meeting) to run behind Mark Webber and Jason Bright. I had been fastest in the race up till then, Webber later clocking a faster lap after the track had started drying.

Career Lowlight
Aquaplaning into the fence later in the same race! I had to sell my Formula Vee to pay for the damage (the F/Ford was leased). It was the end of The Dream.

Ambition
It was to become a professional race car driver, but now it's simply to have fun and be competitive.
